\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"design\"><strong>Design Thinking is a structured approach to innovation that combines the context of a problem with creativity in generating solutions, in order to find the most suitable solution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the method is to create user-friendly solutions by focusing on the real underlying problem from multiple angles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/design\/\">Design<\/a> Thinking is an iterative process that can be used by anyone (regardless of professional background) to solve challenges creatively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This also means that when we say &#8220;design&#8221;, we mean &#8220;create&#8221;, &#8220;develop&#8221;, &#8220;define&#8221;\u2014ish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faserne\">The phases of Design Thinking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Design Thinking typically consists of five phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Empathy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Definition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ideation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prototyping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and Testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not necessarily a linear process\u2014you can jump back to earlier phases based on what you learn along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image Thinking process is about <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/saadan-designer-du-til-dine-brugere-og-ikke-dig-selv\/\">understanding the people you are designing a solution for<\/a>. This involves empathetic listening and observation to find out what truly matters to them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-blog-post-text-box mt-blog-post-text-box\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__inner page-container\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__box\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In this phase, it is important to distinguish between those who have the challenge and those who may only be involved in it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, some people in the company may want customers to change their behaviour, but it is the customers\u2019 needs that must be examined directly.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In this phase, you should aim to understand:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;What is it, really, that these people want solved? They say they want a specific behaviour\u2014but why? What does it give them?&#8221;<br\/>The desired action is often a symptom of a deeper need.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Why does the target group\/customers do what they do?&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion mt-accordion mtSpacing-top- mtSpacing-bottom-\"><div class=\"mt-accordion__inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion-item mt-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__title-wrapper\"><h3 class=\"mt-accordion-item__title\">Useful methods in the empathy phase<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content-wrapper\" style=\"display:none\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participant observation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Qualitative interviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stakeholder analysis <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and Photo safari<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"definition\">Phase 2: Definition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this phase, you gather all the insights you gained in the empathy phase and use them to define the real problem you want to solve. This is where you begin to ask the right questions to address the underlying issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion mt-accordion mtSpacing-top- mtSpacing-bottom-\"><div class=\"mt-accordion__inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion-item mt-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__title-wrapper\"><h3 class=\"mt-accordion-item__title\">Useful methods in the definition phase<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content-wrapper\" style=\"display:none\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5xWhy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clustering (categorising data)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;How Might We&#8221; questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and POV statement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"idegenerering\">Phase 3: Ideation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that you have a clear understanding of the problem, it is time to start generating ideas. The goal is to get as many ideas as possible, so be careful not to limit this phase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-blog-post-text-box mt-blog-post-text-box\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__inner page-container\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__box\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Be aware of your biases about what a solution is, and challenge them continuously. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is tempting to be biased about what the solution is, but ultimately you should test multiple things so you can compare the results.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion mt-accordion mtSpacing-top- mtSpacing-bottom-\"><div class=\"mt-accordion__inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion-item mt-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__title-wrapper\"><h3 class=\"mt-accordion-item__title\">Useful methods in the ideation phase<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content-wrapper\" style=\"display:none\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Classic brainstorming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brainwriting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brainwalking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and Dot voting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"prototyping\">Phase 4: Prototyping<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this phase, you create\/build\/generate the simplest version of your idea (a so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-most-well-known-pros-and-cons-of-building-mvps-in-software-and-product-development\/\">MVP<\/a>) so you can put it in the hands of the target group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion mt-accordion mtSpacing-top- mtSpacing-bottom-\"><div class=\"mt-accordion__inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion-item mt-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__title-wrapper\"><h3 class=\"mt-accordion-item__title\">Useful methods for prototyping<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content-wrapper\" style=\"display:none\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A sketch on a piece of paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clickable prototype<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simple 3D model<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual user journey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and Service stub<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/how-to-identify-and-prioritise-features-for-your-mvp\/\">Read how to identify and prioritise features for your MVP here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"testing\">Phase 5: Testing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, it is time to test your prototypes. This involves getting feedback from users and learning from their reactions. Based on this feedback, you can adjust your solutions and test them again.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion mt-accordion mtSpacing-top- mtSpacing-bottom-\"><div class=\"mt-accordion__inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-accordion-item mt-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__title-wrapper\"><h3 class=\"mt-accordion-item__title\">Useful methods for testing<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content-wrapper\" style=\"display:none\"><div class=\"mt-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Focus group interviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Split testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Think-aloud test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and Usability test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"bruger\">So how do you use Design Thinking?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Design Thinking is a method that can be applied across a wide range of contexts and industries. It is an approach that requires the courage to challenge what exists and to be open to new insights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some steps (based on the phases above) you can follow when applying Design Thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Understand the context<\/strong>: Explore the context and the users to gain a deeper understanding of the problem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Define the challenge<\/strong>: Use your observations to define the real problem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Generate ideas<\/strong>: Brainstorm and come up with as many solutions as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Build prototypes<\/strong>: Create a physical representation of your ideas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Test and refine<\/strong>: Test your ideas helps you focus on the user\u2019s needs and create solutions that truly make a real difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, it is an approach that promotes innovation capability and can improve your company\u2019s results already in the short to medium term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"overveje\">Who should consider using the principles of Design Thinking?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The simple answer is everyone who wants to solve a problem. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Design Thinking is relevant for anyone who wants to solve complex problems in an effective and user-friendly way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, if we are to highlight areas where Design Thinking is particularly applicable, it would be: professionals in fields such as product development, service design, and business development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In short, Design Thinking can be a useful method to apply if you are facing a complex problem where the solution is not obvious, or if you want to create a user-friendly solution.<\/p>\n\n\n
