All business-critical information and data is stored and managed here, and then \u201csimply\u201d pulled into other systems that need to do something or present this data via, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-does-integration-mean\/hvad-betyder-integration-2\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"48176\">integrations<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image mt-tab-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-tab-accordion-item__header\"><h4 class=\"mt-tab-accordion-item__title\">PIM<\/h4><\/div><div class=\"mt-tab-accordion-item__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PIM is an abbreviation for \u2018Product Information Management\u2019<\/strong>, and as the name indicates, a <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-is-a-pim-system\/\">PIM system<\/a> is a central system where companies collect, organise and maintain all product information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A PIM system is used to have one place where product information is maintained and distributed to other systems such as webshop, apps, catalogues, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good for:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Managing product information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distributing product information to external systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing marketing debt by maintaining product information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-tab-accordion-item mt-tab-accordion-item\"><div class=\"mt-tab-accordion-item__header\"><h4 class=\"mt-tab-accordion-item__title\">CRM<\/h4><\/div><div class=\"mt-tab-accordion-item__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CRM is an abbreviation for \u201cCustomer Relationship Management\u201d<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-is-crm-and-what-can-you-use-a-crm-system-for\/\">CRM systems<\/a> are therefore systems from which you manage all information about your customers, such as documents, dialogues, history, and information about the customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of a CRM system is to help companies understand their customers better and improve customer satisfaction, thereby increasing revenue by building a larger and more loyal customer base founded on long-term customer relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good for:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consolidation of customer data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Systematically working with and managing existing and potential customers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increasing sales (share of wallet) to existing customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"mt-tab-accordion__buttons mt-buttons open-slide-in-contact\"><span class=\"mt-tab-accordion__button mt-button mt-button--primary\">Det koster ikke noget at sp\u00f8rge os<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why\">And why should I care?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes\u2014at some point you will need to streamline your business, and there will come a time when you will not be competitive if you have to manage all processes manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want a scalable business, at some point you will need to automate parts of it\u2014most importantly, all tasks that are repetitive or where too many human errors occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read more about <a without<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note: <\/strong>If a company is to scale significantly in size, there is NO getting around the fact that business-critical logic and data must be stored and processed in one place (one source of truth)\u2014in other words, you implement an ERP or, at the very least, Business Central.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"udfordringer\">Challenges you will run into without an ERP system<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The challenge is that if you <strong>do not <\/strong>have a system (ERP or BC), the following happens as you grow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Challenge<\/th><th>Consequence<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Data must be processed and maintained in many places (website, shop, finance, etc.)<\/td><td>This leads to many errors, and a LOT of time is spent updating information = marketing debt<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Every time you change webshop, you have to pay to rebuild your business logic all over again.<\/td><td>If you build, for example, inventory handling directly into your webshop solution, you will have to rebuild that business logic the day you want a new webshop\u2014instead of being free to change shop without touching your business-critical IT infrastructure. <br\/> <br\/><strong>Read:<\/strong> It is expensive and leads to many errors and risks.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>It becomes difficult to automate tasks because data and control are spread across many places.<\/td><td>When you want to automate something\u2014for example, handling picking, reordering more items at a given stock level, etc.\u2014it becomes complicated to build the automation because it is not transparent which systems solve which tasks.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hvem\">Who should use an ERP system?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any company that needs to manage and integrate its business processes can benefit greatly from using an ERP system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it is particularly useful for large companies with many departments, a large product portfolio, or complex processes. But smaller companies should not underestimate the value of getting an ERP system\u2014if nothing else, a simple one to start with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are unsure whether an ERP system would be beneficial for your company, you may consider speaking with an ERP vendor or a consultant who can help you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"valg\">How do I choose an ERP system?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You need to make some thorough considerations about your business and its future. I have tried to boil it down to 5 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 &#8211; What would create value for your company<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should start with a commercial mindset about which parts of your business would create the most value if they were digitised, and then consider starting with a solution that can meet that need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" src=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/14-image.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/14-image.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/14-image-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/14-image-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/14-image-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2 &#8211; The scalability of the system<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And now I almost contradict myself. But make sure to also look a bit into the future, assess where you are heading, and factor that into your choice of ERP system. Above all, look at how scalable the solution you choose is.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This could, for example, be the system\u2019s integration capabilities, which is a good measure of how scalable the solution is\u2014can it communicate with other systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3 &#8211; The price and pricing structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You cannot avoid consulting your budget. But compare prices from different ERP vendors and look at which solution gives you the most of the features you need for the price. At the same time, remember that part of the price is in implementation or operations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, \u201cwhen\u201d will you pay for the solution\u2014when it needs to be built and set up, or through ongoing maintenance and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"336\" src=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Prisstruktur-1024x336.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-61056\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Prisstruktur-1024x336.png 1024w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Prisstruktur-300x98.png 300w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Prisstruktur.png 1374w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4 &#8211; The vendor\u2019s support options<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I cannot say it enough. I meet FAR too many companies with ERP systems where they cannot get hold of anyone, and it takes 30\u201390 days before their issues are answered\/resolved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is quite important that you have access to support in an ERP system, as it is a system from which you run many of your business-critical processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5 &#8211; The usability of the system<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#brugervenlighed\">Usability<\/a> is of course subjective, and therefore you should not choose a system that you have not had the opportunity to get a demo of, so you can get a feel for how the system is administered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"koster\"><strong>What does an ERP system cost?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, I cannot give a serious answer to that, as the price range is too wide and depends on 10,000 things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With ERP systems, as with so many other software solutions, it is the features, integrations and service level that determine the price. So you will hardly find a <strong>good<\/strong> and <strong>cheap<\/strong> solution\u2014those two words do not go together when choosing an ERP system.
