If so, you have probably come across Google My Business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An example from Morningtrain is this \ud83d\udc47 (pssst\u2026 the blog continues below the very long image\ud83d\ude01)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"874\" src=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/local-schema-eksempel-1024x874.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63604\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/local-schema-eksempel-1024x874.png 1024w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/local-schema-eksempel-300x256.png 300w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/local-schema-eksempel-768x656.png 768w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/local-schema-eksempel.png 1147w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hvem\"><span lang=\"DA\">Who should have Google My Business?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><span lang=\"DA\">All<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"DA\"> busi<\/span><span lang=\"DA\">nesses should have Google My Business.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">Google My Business is the first thing your potential customers see when they search for your brand name. So it is part of your brand experience. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">In addition, it is a quick and easy way to provide important information to your potential customers\u2014for example, when you are open, where you are physically located, and your phone number. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">In most cases, Google My Business is created automatically. Google also tries to add a bit of content\u2014but I have yet to see Google succeed in creating a really great Google My Business profile. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">If you do not enrich your Google My Business, it can give the impression that the business is a bit dusty. Enhancing your Google My Business account can also help you get found for keywords beyond your brand within <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-is-local-seo-and-how-does-it-work\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"63785\">your local area<\/a>.   <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">If you, reading along here, run a trades business or similar, and you are not already on the edge of your seat\u2014then get out there now!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"saadan\"><span lang=\"DA\">Get your business on Google Maps<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">Now it gets exciting!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">Google My Business appears on brand searches (i.e., when someone searches for a specific brand name on Google) and potentially when people search for a local service.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">The Google My Business information is the same information Google uses in <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#google-maps\">Google Maps<\/a>. Put another way: When you perform a Google search and choose a result from Maps, you see the same information as in Google My Business.   <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">This means you have the opportunity to have your Google My Business shown in <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-is-local-seo-and-how-does-it-work\/\">local searches<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"837\" height=\"741\" src=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Google-My-Business-eksempel.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63788\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Google-My-Business-eksempel.png 837w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Google-My-Business-eksempel-300x266.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 837px) 100vw, 837px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, it is a way to make it very clear to your potential customers where you are physically located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is particularly relevant if:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your company\u2019s physical presence is important to the customer (e.g., a physical store, a tradesperson, or an office\u2014for people who want suppliers close by).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your business has multiple locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"federe\">And now it gets even better<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can connect your Google My Business with your <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/hvad-er-google-ads\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"63683\">Google Ads<\/a> account and gain the ability to do two things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can show your physical location directly in your search ad\u2014so your address also appears in Google\u2019s regular search results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/lead-generation\/google-ads-agency\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"64435\">create ads in Google<\/a> Maps through Google Ads (see the example below highlighted in green).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, you can advertise based on your physical location with an ad that quickly shows users your great reviews and takes them to your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as if that were not enough:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With one click, users can send your Google My Business information to their own phone. This is smart if people are searching for your store right before they head out the door\u2014then they can send the directions to themselves so they can find their way to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is simply good customer service. \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tringuide\">How do I get a Google My Business?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creating a Google My Business is probably the easiest marketing activity you will deal with today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/business\/\">https:\/\/www.google.com\/business\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then make sure you log in to the Google profile you want associated with your business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then click \u201cAdd location\u201d and then \u201cAdd single location\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Then start by searching for your business. Most businesses have already been created by Google, so this is about \u201cclaiming\u201d the business. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If Google can find your business, simply follow the five steps to claim it. That said, you do not have to be the owner of the business to set up a Google My Business. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If Google <strong>cannot <\/strong>find your business, simply choose \u201cAdd your business to Google\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Then follow the instructions. The steps are so easy that we do not need to cover them in this post. I am so sure it will be a piece of cake for you, dear reader\u2014so IF you cannot solve it yourself\u2026 then I owe you a beer! \ud83d\ude0a<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"raad\">How to optimise your Google My Business<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At a minimum, you should make sure you have the following in place:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Logo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u20133 photos from inside the business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 photo of the storefront<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Correct opening hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Correct phone number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Website information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">If you have a bit more time, you should prioritise working on your photos.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">The order you upload them in is the order they are shown on Google\u2014so play around with creating good variety, and present them in the order that makes your business most appealing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">You can also post updates. Google loves freshness, and so do your visitors. And by posting updates in your Google My Business, both Google and searchers can see that there is activity in your business.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\"> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">Well, that ended up being a longer piece about Google My Business.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">Honestly, Google My Business is a really great <b>FREE<\/b> marketing tool with lots of potential\u2014especially for businesses with a physical presence.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"DA\">But like everything else, it is not a cure for a serious illness. It is more of an addition to the long list of marketing tools you are already juggling. And Google My Business does not require ongoing optimisation to the same extent as other channels.
