Below you can see an example of one of our customers\u2019 organic traffic, where we have worked exclusively with link building every month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over a period of 6 months, the customer\u2019s organic traffic from Google increased by more than 300%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we work with link building, we divide the work into three phases: analysis, execution and follow-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"470\" src=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Oversigt-1024x470.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19076\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Oversigt-1024x470.png 1024w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Oversigt-300x138.png 300w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Oversigt-768x353.png 768w, https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Oversigt.png 1154w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"konkurrentanalyse\">Competitor analysis (analysis phase)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we create link building strategies for our customers, we always start by looking at the customer\u2019s closest competitors that rank highest in Google. <strong>Competitors with top rankings for relevant search terms<\/strong> are websites that have cracked the code for ranking highly in Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By analysing competitors\u2019 link profiles, we gain insight into what types of links they have and what <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-are-backlinks\/\">authority<\/a> those links carry. This gives us important, decisive knowledge about why competitors rank well in Google. In this way, we can map out our upcoming link building work and assess where to focus our efforts to achieve maximum impact in Google.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we have customers for whom we only work a couple of hours per month, it is important to us that those hours are used as efficiently as possible. That is why we need a clear link strategy from month to month, so we know where to apply the necessary effort that ultimately increases the customer\u2019s traffic and, in turn, revenue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Competitor analysis in practice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s say you sell lamps. You want to be in 1st place when people search for \u201clamps\u201d. Unfortunately, you are in 4th place.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By conducting a competitor analysis, we pull out a lot of interesting data (the data below is fictional, as this is only a hypothetical example). Here we can see that the competitors in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place have the following <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#linkprofil\">link profiles<\/a>:   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lampekongen.dk (3 strong authoritative links, 10 links from relevant lamp blogs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lampeeksperten.dk (3 strong authoritative links, 3 links from relevant lamp blogs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lampemesteren.dk (1 strong authoritative link, 2 links from relevant lamp blogs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You (1 strong authoritative link, 4 profile links, 1 link from grandma\u2019s blog)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here we can conclude that to achieve 1st place for the <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#soegeord\">keyword<\/a> \u201clamps\u201d, it is important that we aim to acquire many relevant links from lamp blogs and industry websites within lamps and light sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To push your lamp shop up to 1st place, we will focus on acquiring more relevant links and more authoritative links, so that you achieve a better, stronger and more relevant link profile than the competitor in 1st place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At a minimum, we always aim to create a link profile that is slightly better than the one in 1st place, so we can just get the customer\u2019s website into 1st place\u2014no more is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-blog-post-text-box mt-blog-post-text-box\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__inner page-container\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__box\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So if your competitor gets 5 links per month, you must acquire at least 7 links per month if you want to maintain the lead in Google\u2019s search results. In some cases, only a few links are needed, while others require a larger and more sustained effort before the customer creeps up to 1st place. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The art of good link building is to do it slightly better than the best in the industry\u2014without it looking unnatural in Google\u2019s eyes. This is especially true when we work in highly competitive industries where our customer is up against giants with thousands of inbound links. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of trying to win the entire market within the industry, we focus on getting specific landing pages and keywords to rank well within specific niche areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because even if the customer\u2019s overall domain link profile is nowhere near the competitors\u2019, there is still an opportunity to dominate specific niches within the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s say you sell lamps and the competition is very tough. Instead of starting to work on securing 1st-place rankings for broad, competitive keywords such as \u201clamps\u201d, we try to find niches in the lamp industry where we can dominate the search results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This requires a smaller link building effort, but it is effective and delivers strong results. For example, it could be within table lamps, where we focus on securing lucrative rankings for keywords such as \u201ctable lamps\u201d, \u201ccheap table lamps\u201d, \u201cblack table lamps\u201d, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this way, we can help the small lamp shop get a smaller slice of the pie without spraying and praying and achieving mediocre results. When we work with this link strategy, it is important that the customer meets certain requirements. We also help the customer achieve these:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The specific landing pages must have more and better inbound links than the competitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internal link building to specific landing pages must be well executed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#domaene\">domain<\/a> must have a sound link profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The content on the specific landing pages must be better than the competitors\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The overall content on the domain must be high quality<br\/>If we can tick off these parameters, it is entirely possible to achieve strong rankings and dominate a niche area, even if the domain\u2019s overall link profile is not better than the competitors\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we develop a link strategy, we aim to create a natural and broad link profile. You must be careful not to end up with a completely skewed link profile that stands out unnaturally from competitors, which in the worst case can result in a penalty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So if an SEO agency guarantees you several hundred links per month, you should be cautious, as you will most likely receive links from a lot of spam sites that can ultimately result in a penalty in <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/what-is-google\/hvad-er-google-2\/\">Google<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to indicating where we should focus the necessary effort, competitor analysis can also reveal many exciting link opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we conduct competitor analyses, we often find competitor links that we can replicate. For example, it could be industry organisations where the customer\u2019s competitors are mentioned with a link, but where our customer is not mentioned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Competitor analysis also gives us plenty of inspiration and exciting ideas for how to angle our outreach link building to acquire the same types of links as competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ankertekstanalyse\">Anchor text analysis (analysis phase)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An anchor text link is the phrase or word that is turned into an active link. This active link then points to a specific page.<\/strong> For example, it could be the words \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/lead-generation\/seo-agency\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"64811\">SEO agency<\/a>\u201d. Working with anchor texts still plays an important role if you want to succeed with your link building efforts. Below you can see examples of different types of anchor texts we work with:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exact <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#ankertekst\">anchor text<\/a><\/strong>. The keyword we want to rank for in Google, e.g.: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are a <a href=\"https:\/\/morningbound.dk\/\">digital marketing agency<\/a> that does online marketing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phrase-match anchor text<\/strong>. Contains the keyword we want to rank for: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt Morningtrain, we do <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"2\">digital marketing that drives sales<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Brand anchor text<\/strong>. Here, the anchor text is the name of the brand itself: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMorningtrain is a digital marketing agency focused on B2B marketing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>URL anchor text<\/strong>. Here, the anchor text is the specific URL: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHere you can read more about online marketing at Morningbound: https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/marketing-bureau\/\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Generic anchor text. <\/strong>Here, the anchor text does not contain the specific keyword we want to rank for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt Morningtrain, we deliver data-driven online marketing with a focus on your bottom line. Read more here.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the past, what was written in the anchor texts played a huge role. You could quickly achieve 1st-place rankings in Google simply by having lots of exact-match anchor texts that contained the keyword you wanted to rank for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2008, Google\u2019s founders, Sergey Bin &amp; Larry Page, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThe text of links is treated in a special way in our search engine. Most search engines associate the text of a link with the page that the link is on. In addition, we associate it with the page the link points to. This has several advantages. First, anchors often provide more accurate descriptions of web pages than the pages themselves.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because anchor texts had such a huge influence on rankings, they were also heavily manipulated\u2014which led to many amusing search results. A well-known example is that if you searched for \u201cmiserable failure\u201d on Google, it was a biography of George W. Bush that ranked in 1st place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here it is clear that one or more people (possibly Democrats ;-)) linked from many websites to George W. Bush\u2019s biography with the anchor text \u201cmiserable failure\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because it was so easy to manipulate anchor texts, Google rolled out a major update that put a stop to the blatant abuse. This meant that many websites lost top rankings in Google due to their excessive use of exact-match anchor texts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although it has become harder to manipulate exact-match anchor texts with the aim of achieving top rankings for specific keywords, anchor texts still play an important role. Now it is more about achieving a natural distribution of anchor texts that does not make Google raise an eyebrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we need to develop a strategy for whether our focus should be on acquiring more exact-match anchor texts, more phrase-match anchor texts, or something else entirely, we start by analysing the best competitors in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This gives us a good sense of what the norm is in the industry. If we can see that the best-ranked competitors rank for keywords where their website has many inbound links with the exact keyword in the anchor text, we know we need to work more in that area to reach their level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some industries, competitors have no exact-match anchor texts\u2014most anchor texts are generic. In such cases, we proceed very cautiously when working on an anchor text strategy. If there is a sudden increase in exact-match anchor texts, it looks suspicious in Google\u2019s eyes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When it comes to the use of anchor texts, we always aim to create a varied anchor text profile, working with all types of anchor texts. And depending on the industry, we place more emphasis on certain anchor text types. This keeps our customers on the safe side, so they are not at risk of being penalised by Google.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also continuously monitor our customers to ensure that nothing suddenly stands out as unnatural in Google\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"outreach\">Outreach link building (execution)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once we have completed the necessary link analysis and strategy, we have the right foundation to execute the link building work. The work of <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/how-do-you-do-link-building\/\">acquiring links to a website<\/a> is also called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/outreach-linkbuilding\/\">outreach link building<\/a><\/strong>\u2014this is where, as an agency, we go out and secure the strong and necessary links that help our customer rank better in Google. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within outreach link building, there are different working methods. For example, it could be an article where our customer is mentioned, but there is no active link to their website. In such cases, we often call the webmaster to ask whether the customer can get a link, since they are mentioned anyway.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important that you prepare before reaching out to the various webmasters to ask whether the customer can get a link. If you have written to a larger media outlet, you may well not get a reply, as the email sounds far too pleading. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though you are asking the webmaster to do you a favour, you should angle the email in a way that makes it seem as if the webmaster owes you a favour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mt-blog-post-text-box mt-blog-post-text-box\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__inner page-container\"><div class=\"mt-blog-post-text-box__box\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The wording could instead be as follows:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cHi<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I am writing from the digital agency Morningtrain.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>We noticed that you forgot to insert a link to our website in your article: &#8230;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Right now, the sentence reads as follows:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cAt Morningtrain, they do web development and online marketing\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A link is missing, so the sentence should look like this:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cAt <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/morningbound.dk\/\"><em>Morning<\/em><\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/\">train<\/a> they do web development and online marketing\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Call us on 71 99 55 30 if you need help with anything\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With that type of email, you make it sound as if the webmaster has made a mistake. That way, you come across more as someone who wants to help. The email is also structured so that the webmaster does not have to make a decision, but simply needs to do what is mentioned.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the email is clearly laid out, so as a webmaster you are not in doubt about where the link should be placed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If people are unsure what to do and whether it is OK with their boss, nothing happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, we encourage the webmaster to call us if they need help with anything. This shows that you have a genuine interest in getting the task resolved, and at the same time the email comes across as more serious and important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A webmaster also does not want the hassle of calling out, so it is easier to just quickly insert a link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"internelinks\">Optimising internal links and link structure (execution)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internal link building<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To get the maximum out of your external link building efforts, it is essential that internal link building and link structure are 100% in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Internal link building is often an overlooked area when talking about link building. That is a shame, because you can gain a lot from working on this area. A good example of a site with a solid internal link structure is paulun.dk  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is internal link building?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Internal link building is about optimising the internal links on your website. The purpose is to give Google a better idea of which of your pages are important, and which pages and keywords should rank better in Google. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working with internal link building can have several benefits, but the 3 reasons below are the primary reasons why internal link building is an important part of the overall link building effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Internal link building passes external link value on to other internal pages<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s assume you have a lot of external links pointing to the homepage of your lamp site. When you, for example, link from the homepage to the subpage about \u201ctable lamps\u201d, you pass some of the external link value from the homepage to the subpage. In this way, you get the maximum out of your external links by distributing link value across multiple pages.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we work with internal link building, we often start by identifying the pages with the strongest external link profiles. We can then work with the internal link structure on those pages to get the most out of the external <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#linkjuice\">link juice<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Internal link building tells Google which internal pages are important<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you actively link around to the different pages of your website, you quickly give Google an idea of which of your pages are more important than others. You probably have some pages that convert better than others. When you often link to them, you tell Google that these pages are more important than the others. This increases the chance that your more important pages will be shown first in the search results.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Internal link building helps Google understand what the different pages are about<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By working with internal link building, you help Google understand which subpages are about what. You must never forget that Google is a robot that continuously crawls millions of sites. Therefore, you need to make it easy and clear for Google, and you do that by telling it what the different subpages are about.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s say the homepage of your lamp site is in 1st place in Google when people search for the keyword \u201ctable lamps\u201d. Even though it is great to be in 1st place, you would give users a much better experience if it were your subpage about table lamps that ranked 1st, because then you give users what they are looking for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case, you can insert a link to the subpage about table lamps in the homepage text. The link could look like this: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can read more about table lamps here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Google visits your homepage, it sees that you link to the table lamp page because the words \u201ctable lamps\u201d appear in the text. That way, Google knows that your \u201ctable lamp\u201d page is relevant within the topic of table lamps. Hopefully, there will then be a greater chance that your subpage about table lamps will be shown in 1st place when people search for table lamps on Google.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do not only work with internal link building in the text\u2014we also look at images. Image titles and <a href=\"https:\/\/morningtrain.dk\/en\/the-marketing-dictionary\/#alt-tekst\">ALT tags<\/a> are areas that can often be optimised and improved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, Google cannot read what is in an image. Therefore, the search engine uses the image\u2019s ALT tag and file name to get an idea of what the image is about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We therefore use images actively when optimising the internal link structure. If a website about lamps, for example, contains an image of table lamps, the ideal ALT tag and file name would be something like the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ALT tag: \u201cTable lamps on a garden table\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">File name: \u201cTable lamps\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"case1\">Case: Pfeiffer Plastic Surgery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A good example of internal link building can be seen on Plastikkirurgi.dk. The company is a clinic that offers plastic surgery in Roskilde. Pfeiffer\u2019s website contains many different landing pages, each with its own purpose, and therefore they must be prioritised differently in Google.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case, we wanted to get their specific treatments ranking in Google and therefore chose internal link building to prioritise these pages in Google\u2019s eyes. An example of an important page could be this <a href=\"https:\/\/plastikkirurgi.dk\/plastikkirurgi\/brystoperation\/brystforstorrelse-med-eget-fedt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">landing page<\/a>, since searches for &#8220;breast augmentation with your own fat&#8221; are often more purchase-ready than searches for just &#8220;breast augmentation&#8221;. This is often characterised by the search for the product or service becoming more and more specific.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you look around the website, you will find many internal links to various treatments, the point of which is to make navigation easier and to prioritise specific pages in Google.<br\/>In addition, the exact-match anchor text is often used to help Google understand what the page is about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Follow-up on outreach link building<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once we have worked with outreach link building, it is important to follow up on the work carried out. If we do not follow up on the calls and emails we have made, there is a high chance that we will not get the maximum output from our efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why we note all the webmasters, media and bloggers we contact on an ongoing basis, so we maintain a clear overview of who we need to follow up with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some cases, the webmaster has inserted an incorrect link, and of course that needs to be corrected. Other times, the webmaster needs another email. By following up on our outreach link building, we also send a signal that we have a genuine interest.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow-up is an important part of outreach work, as a great deal of preparation has already gone into designing a solid outreach effort. Our experience shows that domains with broad and natural link profiles often perform best in the search results. It is a healthy, long-term link strategy to invest in if you want to achieve the best results in Google.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means that, as far as possible, you should avoid focusing on only one type of link. If, for example, you only build links of one type, your link profile will quickly appear unnatural and skewed, which can negatively affect your site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should create a link profile with a good variation of links, including comment links, profile links, media links, forum links, links from grandma\u2019s blog, links from friends and family, relevant links, strong links, links from industry sites, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Natural link profiles include all types of links, regardless of industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have a website that has existed for 5 years. The website has great content and many daily visitors. And even if you have never done link building, you will be able to see that you already have links from different places, and that there is variation between link types.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is the kind of link profile we need to create\u2014just stronger and with more volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regardless of your situation, you should primarily focus on acquiring relevant and strong links, while simultaneously acquiring other types of links.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you for reading.
