Digitalization of a Global Industrial Company

GreenTec A/S is a Danish company in Kolding that has specialized in machinery for maintaining green areas since 1979. GreenTec has more than 25,000 machines worldwide and a strong global distribution and dealer network. With a desire to strengthen their sales organization, they reached out to Morningtrain.

Problem – Time-consuming & Outdated

For GreenTec, it is essential that their sales organization has the most effective tools to best serve their customers.

Their existing solutions were outdated and inadequate to meet the marketing and sales organization’s needs for greater efficiency.

They faced three primary challenges: An outdated self-service platform that no longer met their business requirements, a time-consuming and inconsistent quotation process, and an outdated website that was not flexible for their new needs.

Plan – Close Dialogue Was Essential

Good, close dialogue is crucial when digitalizing workflows and solving this type of sales challenge. This was certainly the case between GreenTec and us, and it became decisive for the solution.

With a team of 1 product manager, 1 designer, and 2 developers, prototypes were created, requirements analyzed, and product development demonstrated.

With daily dialogue and demos every other week, we ensured feedback from stakeholders at GreenTec, which was then quickly implemented and ultimately ensured a successful deployment at GreenTec.

Result – a New Sales Platform

GreenTec had several digital solutions created in collaboration with us. The primary solution was an intelligent digital product configurator where both salespeople and end customers can configure their own offers. The configurator is managed from their new central self-service solution, where a claims system was also created.

Lastly, a new modern brand website was created based on reusable WordPress modules, where machines, markets, technical documentation, and dealers globally can be easily found visually. The combined digital solutions now form a unified platform where GreenTec can service their dealers, distributors, and end customers.

The Product Configurator Automated Sales

With over 40 tools available for 22 different models and a complex set of rules, it is crucial for GreenTec that their product configurator accurately shows appropriate options for both salespeople and customers. This is achieved through an advanced rule and validation engine, which ensures correct configurations.

When customers have created the new offer, it is automatically collected in GreenTec’s self-service solution. Afterwards, dealers can reach out to the end-user themselves and help them finalize their new solution. With our new configurator, GreenTec has therefore streamlined their quotation process, saved a lot of time, and can now nurture their customer relationships even better.
