Website Ready for Flugt Museum’s Opening Day

Varde Museums contacted Morningtrain because they needed a new website for Flugt Museum, as the museum was being completed for visiting guests. The website needed to be ready for opening day so the museum could communicate relevant information from day one.

Problem

Flugt Museum was set to open its doors on June 29, 2022, and did not have a website to attract visitors and share information. They needed a modern website that could provide the feeling of visiting the museum digitally, which could also inspire a physical visit.

Plan

Through a concept phase, a design was developed and a development plan was created to meet the deadline.
In addition to Flugt Museum, Varde Museums also needed Tirpitz Museum created, so a plan was made to manage multiple sites in one solution.

Result

The website was designed and built to completion, so it was ready for the museum’s opening day. Particular emphasis was placed on being able to present the beautiful imagery that Flugt Museum had available.

Multisite solution

The Solution Needed to Accommodate Multiple Museums in the Future

Varde Museums came with a need to create a website for Flugt Museum, so it would be ready for opening day. Additionally, the plan was to eventually have several of their existing websites in the same solution, making it easy to maintain the solution long-term.

Therefore, a WordPress solution was set up with a multisite setup, making it easy to operate Flugt Museum’s website, but also easy to connect and operate multiple museum websites in the future.

Shortly after launch, a solution was created for Museum Tirpitz, which was connected to this, so the two websites are now linked for the administrator.

Project process

Close collaboration ensures on-time launch

Another very important factor in the successful solutions was the close collaboration between Varde Museums and Morningtrain. The close communication was crucial for solving the tasks on time, and frequent collaboration meetings between the two project teams were prioritized.

In the final phase, good training in the system by Morningtrain to Varde Museums was additionally prioritized, so great familiarity was achieved in working with the new system.
