B2b Webshop for Order Automation

ICS supplies components for industrial automation solutions and systems to a wide range of sectors and industries.

We have developed a webshop for them that meets their B2B customers’ needs while utilizing the classic user journey from a well-known B2C ecommerce platform.

The case is a textbook example of how far you can go by working 100% focused on user experience and lead generation.

Problem

Previously, ICS spent a lot of time on manual order handling, and they wanted to change this. At the same time, they wanted a platform that would allow them to further develop future features and scale their business.

Plan

The platform was to be built in WordPress with Morningshop as the e-commerce module. Morningshop builds on WooCommerce and allows for customizing the shop solution to better suit ICS’s target audience, which is B2B customers.

Result

ICS’ new B2B webshop allows customers to order some of the products online. This means ICS does not have to spend as much time on manual order handling. Additionally, the new platform allows customers to log in and view their order history and reorder orders.

Better customer journey

Customer Login Makes it Easy to Reorder Orders

The user journey for existing customers has been an important focus point in the project. Therefore, we have developed a customer portal so existing customers can easily log in and view and reorder previous orders.

Here, customer information is also stored, making their company data easily accessible for future purchases. This means they do not have to re-enter data in the purchase flow every time they shop with ICS.

Additionally, the new platform allows customers to pay by invoice instead of credit card, which is often requested in a B2B market.

To create a flexible and future-proof platform, we chose to build the solution in Morningshop.

Morningshop is an e-commerce solution in WordPress based on WooCommerce. Here, you get all the best from WooCommerce’s standard functionalities, including order handling and beautiful product display. Additionally, through Morningshop, you gain access to several B2B-targeted shop modules and B2B modifications to WooCommerce.
